The Community Education Coordinator coordinates the day-to-day aspects of Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center community education curriculum and programming provided by the Behavioral Health service line in conjunction with the Social Services Manager of Behavioral Health. The Community Education Coordinator will collaborate with attending physicians, clinicians, educators, community partners, and the other institutional and regulatory administrative offices in regards to development and implementation of the behavioral health curriculum. The Community Education Coordinator will have responsibility managing logistics of multiple events including event planning and management for both, internal and external events. This position will also have the responsibility for the development of a research based curriculum that will span multiple years and be utilized for internal and external events. This is a professional position that requires interaction with Physicians, Clinicians, Educators, Senior Leadership, and various Community Partners. The Community Education Coordinator will utilize multiple electronic systems on a day-to-day basis. Must work with indirect supervision utilizing independent judgement with strong critical thinking and analysis ability within the scope of responsibilities. As such, must perform other appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional, and courteous manner.
Essential Functions
Develops a research based curriculum that is used for internal and external events as well as associate education for behavioral health topics that span the lifespan. Curriculum will be developed in collaboration with education and community based resources that will help to assure validity of information as well as structure and format.
Coordinates the organization and management of community education program development, tracking, implementation, evaluation, program related activities, invoice processing, training verifications, applications. Develops and maintains program and event information.
Manages payment of invoices, expenses, related to the community education program.
Coordinates event contracts and ensures program letter of agreements (PLA) with the Legal and Administration Department. Coordinates and organizes community wide events such as panel discussions, symposiums, educational series, welcome events.
Coordinates and prepares meeting agendas, documents, and record meeting minutes.
Manages and oversees event management for community events including vendor/venue relationships, budget/invoice/payment, supplies, marketing and creating additional opportunities.
Engages in life-long learning by taking courses that further professional growth, knowledge, and expertise to enhance coordination skills. Attend at least one professional development meeting per year.
