Senior Marketing Associate- Graphics Design

Capital One, a Fortune Magazine “100 Best Companies to Work For,” is seeking an innovative and data-driven Senior Marketing Associate who specializes in Graphics Design to lead our creative marketing initiatives and drive visual storytelling for the PULSE brand. This role requires a strong sense of design, conceptual thinking, and leadership abilities to execute compelling visuals across various platforms. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design, branding, and innovation, as well as the ability to manage projects from concept to completion, generating new leads, selling products/services, and enhancing a unified stakeholder and client experience across all touchpoints.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage design projects, collaborating with the Marketing Team, to ensure visual alignment with brand strategies/business goals and key performance indicators. 

• Attends project briefings and collaborates with the Marketing Team and external vendors to direct and design creative across a variety of channels, including print, digital, video, and social/content. Comfortable presenting creative concepts and designs to stakeholders and upper management.

• Act as a design guardian and steward to the PULSE brand guidelines, ensuring that all projects adhere to brand standards and contribute to a seamless visual language across all platforms.

• Have strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify and solve design problems and find creative solutions that meet stakeholder and project needs, while complying with company/department requirements, policies, and processes.

• Willingness to create and revise compelling PowerPoint presentations to enrich our team with their client and internal engagements.

• Manages multiple projects simultaneously, producing consistently effective graphics while meeting both long-term and tight deadlines. This includes planning, scheduling, overseeing progress and ensuring projects are completed on or before deadlines.

• Be an expert at the file release process (both print and digital) and comfortable approving proofs. Work with vendors, printers, and external agencies to ensure quality production of materials.

• Comfortable speaking with and gathering information from high-level subject matter experts to translate complex business concepts, data, information and content into easily digestible, high-end infographics graphics and presentations.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, or Marketing

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and PowerPoint. 

• Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills, attention to detail, and strong understanding of typography, color theory, and composition. 

• Portfolio showcasing a range of high-quality design work.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of professional experience in direction and/or design

• Experience working within the Payments industry or B2B financial services industry.

• At least 1 year of Advertising agency experience

• At least 1 year of experience working with HTML5

• At least 1 year of experience with video production (directing/editing with vendors), Microsoft Suite (Office, Word), Aftereffects.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $94,600 - $107,900 for Sr. Associate, Marketing

 

Richmond, VA: $86,000 - $98,200 for Sr. Associate, Marketing

 

Houston, TX: $86,000 - $98,200 for Sr. Associate, Marketing

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
