Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy is looking for an Electrical Technical subject matter expert to join our RNG team. This candidate would troubleshoot electrical systems at RNG facilities in a growing fleet. This would include arc flash analysis, reactive power studies, protection relays, fire & gas systems, 5kV – 15kV switchgears and other electrical equipment as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Support engineering on major electrical systems in newly designed facilities.

· Recognize inconsistencies in engineering drawings, take corrective action, and strive for better reliability and efficiency.

· Work with diverse teams to solve problems, improve opportunities, and integrate systems and controls.

· Understand protection relays and relay coordination.

· Troubleshooting with 5kV, 15kV switchgears and 480vac Motor Control Stations.

· Understanding of utility provider interfaces and shutdowns.

· Understanding of generator synchronizing.

· Handle other assigned duties as needed.

· Travel required for all specific duties

 

Preferred Experience

· Expertise in RNG facilities and LFGTE facilities.

· Familiarity with GE Multilin and SEL protection relays.

· Familiarity with NFPA NEC 70.

· Ability to handle specialized technical task.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
