ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF):

The Data & Business Intelligence Manager is primarily responsible for leading the sourcing, manipulation, preparation, and validation of data for consumption – which may be in the form of production reports or as analytical data sets to answer questions or to perform predictive analysis. The Data & Business Intelligence Manager uses queries and data mining to produce more complex reports and descriptive analysis that provide answers to questions such as “How do I measure?” and “What happened?” Guiding a team and/or project through advanced reporting and analysis, the Data & Business Intelligence Manager should use business and industry knowledge to identify and anticipate business needs and engineer data into insightful business intelligence solutions, partner with Analytics Enablement and technology to make performance and process improvements and manage partners’ business requirements. Success criteria include: Demonstrating strong leadership through effective communication, addressing conflict, and overseeing the development and delivery of presentations; ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage self and others to tight deadlines; establishing reputation as an effective and collaborative partner and leader; Leveraging knowledge of strategy, business, and competition to connect day-to-day work of team to the “bigger picture”.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Proactively translate data into insightful business intelligence reports by mining and exploring data warranting further analysis from multiple sources
• Automate processes and reporting to ensure consistency and data integrity
• Leverage knowledge of KeyCorp and LOB strategy, business, and competition to anticipate analytic needs and provide recommendations
• Drive projects end to end; prioritize multiple projects; manage to tight deadlines
• Review deliverables; coach others on approach and work product
• Lead business partner interactions; drive for results and provide recommendations in alignment with business priorities
• Effectively communicate with team and business partners; articulate broad implications / impact of messages
• Address challenging situations; anticipate and address conflict by demonstrating managerial courage
• Proactively coach and guide the work of others; Serve as mentor within and beyond own team
• Manage integration of activities typically within own team

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree (or its equivalent) in Data Analytics, Business Management, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Statistics (or other related field) with at least 4 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) in Data Analytics, Business Management, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Statistics (or other related field) with at least 6 years of relevant experience
• Advanced proficiency with:
o Microsoft Excel / PowerPoint
o Query writing/coding including complex joins
o Data visualization
o Analytical programming languages
• Understanding of:
o Source systems
o Process flow and automation
• Skill & Ability to:
o Work with big data
o Navigate data warehouse and/or data supply chain
