JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supporting the Benefits Strategy team in analyzing and recommending benefits plan design changes, and helps ensure that programs, processes, and policies are aligned with the enterprise benefits strategy. The Sr Benefits Strategy Analyst role reports to the Director of Enterprise Benefits and is based at our worldwide corporate headquarters in Providence, RI.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Determines the competitiveness of our benefit programs through benchmarking, assesses gaps and identifies areas of opportunities
- Analyze healthcare, retirement, and ancillary benefit plan performance, utilization and cost trends
- Conducts vendor cost analyses and recommends benefit design changes (e.g., medical, dental, life insurance, 401(k) plan, pension, etc.) to ensure competitive, effective, and efficient benefit programs and benefits management
- Manages the health plan claims appeals process including interacting with plan participants, HR Business Partners, plan administrators, external legal counsel, and other service providers. Drafts claim appeal responses for review and signature while meeting prescribed timeframes and maintaining a control list and metric report of all claim appeals
- Holds service providers accountable for on-time delivery to ensure that they meet contracted requirements related to cost, quality, and timeliness
- Supports business unit collective bargained negotiations as they relate to benefit strategies
- Participates as liaison in Textron’s wellbeing team
- Partners with Textron’s supplier management team and/or external consultants to develop requests for proposals or information for benefit plan bids and serve as project leader to ensure all stakeholders and team members are apprised of progress and deliver required elements in a timely manner
- Helps develop training and educational materials for business unit Benefits Strategy liaisons.
- Develop strategic recommendations based on data insight and market benchmarking.
- Perform other duties and special projects assigned.
- Support annual open enrollment planning and strategy collectively with other HR departments.
- Participate in internal benefits communications and training initiatives, supporting the development and delivery of materials that educate employees and HR partners on benefit programs and plan changes.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, finance, or related field.
- Minimum five years’ experience in general HR, project management, or Human Resources/benefits administration.
- Experience in Human Resources including functions such as Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, HR Administration, and Employee Relations.
- Supplier/vendor relations or client network management experience.
- Actuarial/Financial Accounting background a plus.
