Job Description
The General Counsel is responsible for providing legal advice and support to the Eurofins Environment Testing USA legal entities, including advising board members and senior executives, supervising a team of 3 contracts administrators, providing commercial and government client and vendor contract review and negotiation, advising on US Department of Defense compliance with DFARS, managing litigation and subpoena responses, advising on real estate matters including leases and purchase/sale transactions, M&A support, employment & HR matters, and retaining and supervising outside counsel as required for special matters, as well as any other legal matters that may arise.
- Provides legal advice for EETUS board members and senior executives as needed on wide variety of business matters;
- Supervises team of contracts administrators, including training on contract principles and review procedures, as well as specific Eurofins requirements;
- Reviews client contracts, including commercial, federal, state, and municipal contracts, RFPs and subcontracts, to ensure compliance with Eurofins legal standards; prepares comment memos for members of the Proposal Group, Account Executives, Client Service Organization staff; at times negotiates terms directly with clients and client counsel;
- Works interactively with corporate counsel for Eurofins NSC and non-environment legal entities to ensure consistent legal standards and protocols across all Eurofins legal entities within US and globally;
- Manages compliance with all US laws and regulations, including FAR clauses and DFARS;
- Coordinates with QA and EHS team on ethics investigations, accreditation issues, etc., as needed;
- Coordinates with Strategic HR, NSC Compliance, and Recruiting teams on employment law issues;
- Manages SAMe and CAGE code registrations for EETUS companies;
- Manages all litigation involving EETUS companies, including employment/HR cases, commercial lawsuits, class action cases, settlements, threatened claims, and agency charges;
- Manages responses to third party subpoenas, including objections, production of documents, witness preparation for depositions and trials, etc.;
- Participates in Mergers & Acquisitions due diligence as needed;
- Manages all intellectual property issues with assistance from legacy outside counsel and Eurofins global IP team;
- Retains and supervises outside counsel as needed for approved matters;
- Manages information on the Legal/Contracts intranet site;
- Prepares legal training for senior leaders in coordination with Talent Development team;
- Provides legal advice on other matters as needed by senior leadership;
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required. Authorization to work in the United states indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
Education: : JD degree and Bar Admission in Pennsylvania is required
Experience: minimum 10 years’ experience with law firm or in-house corporate preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Teams, Zoom, Sharepoint, Adobe, and other software programs as needed

Position is full-time, exempt, salaried. Candidates currently living within a two hour commute of Lancaster, Pennsylvania for routine meetings and visits.
