Job Description

Experian IT Services (EITS) provides technology solutions and services for all of Experian across the globe. EITS supports our business product teams to deliver for external customers, as well as supporting internal employees with desktop/helpdesk and other services. EITS provides a wide variety of underlying technology infrastructure that supports the technology and product teams of all business units.

 

Job Description

Experian/EITS is looking for a leader in developing tools, standards and services that will provide a global platform for machine learning (ML/AI) in the cloud. Experian has a long history of innovation in AI/ML across regions and business units. Recent inflections in areas such as Generative AI have increased the demand for faster evaluation and standardization of tools to provide an extensible platform for further innovation. We are looking for a data science leader with experience in ML modeling, data engineering and production ML platform architecture. He/she should be willing to mentor both engineers and scientists and lead projects from inception to implementation and be able to partner with technology teams to bring models to production.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Apply analysis, machine learning techniques, predictive modeling, and data mining to help solve business problems in across global business units.
  • Lead and execute complex modeling/machine learning projects, POCs and new product development from concept to final delivery including writing code for model deployment.
  • Lead standards decision-making and training that will increase Experian’s overall skillset and capability in AI/ML.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers and scientists across regions and business units.
  • Innovate, propose, and design new architectures and tools that will continue to optimize cost and increase our ability to improve and create new products leveraging AI/ML
  • Ability and willingness to document and present development results to stakeholders

Qualifications

Required

  • Masters degree in a related quantitative field (Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Economics)
  • 10+ years of relevant working experience in a similar role, preferably involving business information, fraud, or credit data
  • Experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), and statistical/mathematical programming languages (e.g. Python, R, SAS). 
  • Experience with Machine learning methods such as Neural Networks, Clustering, SVM, Ensemble models, Random Forest, and Gradient Boosting
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills

 

Highly Preferred

  • PhD degree in a related quantitative field (Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Economics).
  • Experience with large data architectures including Spark, Hadoop, or similar technologies
  • Experience with modern tools and architectures in Generative AI including OpenAI, Langchain and Hugging Face
  • Experience leading engineering teams to move AI/ML solutions into production.
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms for machine learning and data processing
  • Prior people mentoring or leading experience of fellow Machine Learning and Data Scientists
