Project Overview:
Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.
Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will act as the Lead for Mechanical Process System testing. You will provide knowledge, expertise, input, training, and consultative support for a discipline or process required for facility commissioning and startup. You will participate in work planning and packaging, turnover coordination, material management and quantities, quality control, and environmental safety and health. You will provide technical direction and assign work to engineers, technicians, craft or others as assigned for specific projects or tasks. You will be an essential resource for specialized technical advice.
This position is a full-time role located in the Richland, Washington project office, and works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off. #LI-EH1
Major Responsibilities:
Specialization & Expertise
- T he lead will be responsible for managing mechanical process system commissioning, including assigning systems and responsibilities to test personnel under his/her direction. This will require coordinating with mechanical, electrical and control systems disciplines within the startup organization to complete all required testing from component level through integrated operation with the rest of the facility.
- Provides knowledge and expertise in a particular discipline, subject matter, or specialized process required for CSU (e.g., chemical cleaning, steam & air blowing, meter and relay testing, process operations, nuclear HVAC systems, complex analytical instrumentation such as CEMS, ICs, etc.
- Supervises and provide technical direction or assigns work to engineers, technicians, crafts or others as assigned for specific projects or tasks.
