About the Job:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:
Job Specific:
- Work as discipline lead engineer/specialist in both minor and major projects managing engineering analysis and design of components by ensuring the work is executed in accordance with project design basis, quality plans, procedures, schedules and budgets.
- Develop design basis for projects when assigned as lead engineer/specialist.
- Document analysis and design work in project calculation books in accordance with department work instructions.
- Check calculations performed by others.
- Review and approve technical reports.
- Delegate work to discipline engineering personnel and supervise same.
- Approve drawings produced in accordance with company procedures and/or work instructions.
- Approve technical specifications.
- Work as an Engineering Manager on multi-discipline engineering projects with responsibility for project design basis, engineering interfaces, engineering schedules and engineering budgets.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineering personnel.
- Travel internationally and to fabrication yards/offshore installations, as needed.
General:
- Safe and efficient delivery of Projects to both Client and Company satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with Company Operating and Financial Procedures within Projects
- Meet or exceed Project Profit targets (and where set, stretch target).
- Assist / supervise all technical and operational aspects of the project.
- Participate in Operations and Design Reviews as necessary
- Ensure compliance with company Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies, procedures and reporting requirements.
- Assist with project delivery by ensuring project schedules are updated.
- Interface directly with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Stamp drawings and documents.
About You:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- Completed Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent.
- 10-15 years of Industry Experience
- Texas P.E. licenses preferred
- Experience with marine contractors or consulting firms working specifically for the offshore industry.
- Experience in structural design and analysis of offshore platforms for pre-service and in-service conditions.
- Strong analytical background based on first principles and with a good understanding of ABS, DNV, API, and related industry regulations and standards.
- Experience working with Offshore Wind Platforms preferred.
- Advanced analysis skills using Finite Element software SACS and ANSYS is required.
- Experience in performing non-linear analysis using ABAQUS software preferred.
