About the role

The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves. Our Philosophy of Service: We believe all people have the right to adequate housing and health care. We work to remove the barriers that restrict access to these rights. Society benefits when adequate housing and health care are available to everyone. We create lasting solutions to homelessness by: ·         Honoring the inherent dignity of those we serve, affirming their capabilities and fostering their hope that a better life is possible. ·         Building strong, caring and trauma-informed communities through the integration of housing, health care and supportive services. ·         Advocating for social and racial equity, inclusion and diversity, and challenging the status quo in partnership with our workforce members and those we serve. ·         Achieving excellence through continuous quality assurance, innovation and professional development. ·         Using resources judiciously and effectively.

The Medical Assistant I works within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team in the Recuperative Care program to provide patient care and perform administrative and laboratory duties in support of clinic operations. This role involves taking vital signs, assisting with examinations and procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring the effective flow of patients to support the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
The Recuperative Care program is a unique program supporting individuals who have been discharged from the hospital, who are too frail or complex to properly heal on the streets or in a shelter. Patients stay in the program and have access to clinical staff 24/7 while they are recuperating from their hospital stay. The program comprises multiple disciplines working together to deliver holistic, integrated care. Roles within the care team include nurses, case managers, peer support specialists, medical assistants, psych providers, behavioral health clinicians, and primary care providers. The team functions as a cohesive and supportive partner with the patients. There is an intentional focus on medication management, education, care management, and navigation of resources.
We offer a schedule that supports flexibility and a team environment where we all get a say in quality improvement efforts. We also offer pay differentials for hours worked on weekends, nights, overnights, and holidays.
The Recuperative Care program isn't just a facility or a team of roles; it is a community of healing. We would love you to join and be a part of that!
