Summary

This position oversees the day-to-day accounting operations of Kia Mobility Solution America (Captive Lease Company) under the guidance of the Corporate Controller. This position is to ensure Captive Lease Company’s accounting functions conforming to IFRS requirements and responsible for managing month-end close of the accounts in charge, consolidation and intercompany accounting.

Specifically, Thie role is responsible for Captive Lease accounting, external and management reporting, lease payment abstractions, K-SOX compliance activities and controls to ensure the accuracy of external reporting.
 

Major Responsibilities

Priority: 1st - 30%

Accurate, on-time financial closing & reporting of Captive Lease Company to the Corporate Controller, Senior Management Team and Kia America in accordance with IFRS and Kia Group Policy 

Priority: 2nd - 15%

Perform and review account reconciliations without any reasonable exception in accordance with Kia America’s reconciliation procedures. 

Priority: 3rd - 15%

Manage & review impairment model for residual value and credit loss in accordance with IFRS and current expected credit loss (CECL).

Priority: 4th - 10%

Oversee reconciliation and test adequacy of journal entries on related party transactions among Parent Company, Subsidiary, and Affiliates.

Priority: 5th - 10%

Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, making process improvements where needed. 

Priority: 6th - 10%

Manage external and internal audits from various parties (Big 4, State, City, K-SOX, HQ)

Priority: 7th - 5%

Analyze financial results and documents variance analytics for the management reporting.  

Priority: 8th - 5%

Review compliance reporting to government agencies from Federal, State, Bank, Various Regulators on a monthly and a quarterly and annual basis. 

Education/Certification

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 
  • CPA, MBA Preferred
     

Overall Experience

  • 8+ years of accounting & financial reporting experience (internal & external) in a corporate environment

Directly Related Experience

  • Must have experiences of managing Captive Lease Accounting, AR/AP processes, financial consolidation in accordance with IFRS
  • 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry or similar environment
  • Detailed knowledge of New Lease Accounting (IFRS 15) and CECL (IFRS 9)

Pay Range

$101,964.00 - $141,747.57

Pay will be based on several variables that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, etc.
