Job Description

Under the direction of the Business Development Director, the Proposal Manager creatively presents complex approaches in written proposals for federal government agencies. Oversees proposal writers and works with the Capture Manager to produce compelling, compliant programs. Will play a vital role in writing technical, management, transition, and past performance sections for proposals. Assignments may range from producing discrete subsections to writing and leading a complete proposal volume. The Proposal Writer performs a variety of research, support, and computer-related tasks that involve daily deadlines.

• Collaborating with operations and other departments to manage/write/edit proposals
• Managing multiple assignments while working independently and with other team members
• Authors and manage the development of multiple high-quality proposals, budgets and change orders for new business opportunities
• Prepare and maintain necessary proposal development documentation (e.g., compliance matrix, competitor analysis, writing templates)
• Work with proposal team to identify potential barriers and provide alternative solutions to meet RFP requirements.

Experience:

• 5-10 years of proposal management, development, marketing, communication and/or business development experience

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree

Qualifications

• Strong proposal management experience
• Strong attention to detail, editing, and proofreading capabilities
• Ability to think strategically, apply sound judgment, be resourceful, troubleshoot, and take initiative
• Ability to work well under pressure, meeting tight, multiple, and sometimes conflicting deadlines
• Highly skilled in the use Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Exceptional writing skills, including interpreting technical subject matter and complex ideas into straightforward proposal language
• Experience with proposal management applications
• Certified Proposal Management Professional, a plus

Other Requirements:

• Candidate must have a flexible schedule and at time prepared to work on weekends or evenings, per projects
