MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Journeyman Technical Writer to join our team in Stafford, VA.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Independently creates and maintains a range of technical documentation, including system guides and knowledgebase articles, collaborating with subject matter experts to gather information.

• Ensures the accuracy and quality of documentation, applying industry best practices and style guidelines, and effectively organizes and structures information for easy retrieval.

• Proactively reviews and edits documentation, recommending and implementing process improvements.

• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to contribute to documentation requirements and ensure project alignment.

• Manages multiple projects while meeting deadlines and adhering to organizational standards, demonstrating increasing autonomy and proficiency, and receives mentorship with less direct guidance than junior staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS in field necessary to assume Technical Writer duties or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree

• 4 years of experience with 2+ years of relevant Technical Writer experience.

• Proficiency in using documentation tools and software, such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to nontechnical audiences.

Desired Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or other IT Service Management Frameworks.

• Knowledge of IT security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).

• Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.

Clearance Requirements:

• Musthave a current/active Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
