Description
SUMMARY
Responsible for the management and oversight of the daily clinical operations in a service line in one or more practice locations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: clinical leadership, clinical operations, patient and employee safety and satisfaction, quality care, fiscal management and personnel management. Partners and co-creates a dynamic and collaborative relationship and partnership with members of the triad - Chiefs of Service Line and Operations leaders and/or local administration leaders in service to exemplary patient care. Ensures the continuity and advancement of systems, care model critical success factors and service standards.
Supervises CNM Is, Supervisors, RNs, LPNs and/or medical assistants and assures that they are practicing in accordance with legal parameters, guidelines, and standards for clinical care. Ensures the strict adherence to collective bargaining agreements across sites. Serves as a clinical nursing resource and clinical operations partner in the areas of quality improvement, regulatory compliance, safety and professional development for their designated sites/service areas. Addresses patient and staff issues in collaboration with operational partners.
The Regional Clinical Nurse Manager II is differentiated from other nursing leadership roles based on the following critical components:
· Is an administrative position
· Has management responsibilities over two or more sites or departments.
· Has responsibility over an area of practice with a large number of direct reports or complex scope of clinical practice (high level disinfection, moderate sedation etc.)
· Supervises nursing leadership positions (e.g. CNM I) directly direct leader reports (e.g. CNM I) in their assigned region
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is required. Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare related field, preferred. Current RN license to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty. Certification in practice specialty or leadership preferred with an expectation to sit for certification within 4 years of hire.
EXPERIENCE
Three (3) years of demonstrated clinical experience and skill in relevant nursing area strongly preferred. 2 - 4 years of leadership experience preferred. Management/leadership experience in a nursing collective bargaining environment preferred.
SKILLS
Working knowledge of organizational systems and operations preferred. Must be able to act cooperatively and collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Requires strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Must have a demonstrated commitment to the principals of collaboration and teamwork.
