Staff Accountant, Cost Accounting

The pay for this position ranges from $58,000 - $66,500.

 

 

Summary: 
As an entry level cost accountant, you will be responsible for analyzing and reporting the costs of various products, services, and projects. You will also assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, maintaining internal reports, assisting in the monthly/quarterly/annual close process, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. 

    
Essential Functions/Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Participate in the monthly close cycle; including preparing and entering journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and maintaining internal reports
•    Prepare customer invoices
•    Assist with annual SOX and external audit requests
•    Support annual budget preparation and reporting
•    Monitor project costs
•    Support accounting for Fixed Assets
•    Support the annual physical inventory and other projects as needed
•    Collect and analyze data on the costs of materials, labor, overhead, and other expenses related to the production and delivery of goods and services
•    Identify and recommend opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement

Qualifications and Experience:
•    Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
•    0-2 years of experience in cost accounting or related field
•    Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
•    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
•    Ability to effectively communicate at all levels in the organization
•    Attention to detail and accuracy
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
