About the Role

We are offering a unique opportunity for a talented and curious business attorney to work at the forefront of the most interesting legal matters in a truly international high-tech environment.

The NXP Legal Department environment is fast-paced, challenging, and collaborative. This role is for a self-motivated and highly-skilled, senior commercial attorney within the Commercial Legal Support team and will provide global legal support primarily for customer-facing matters, including sales contracts and software licensing, with responsibility to independently negotiate complex commercial transactions, advise clients and solve business problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently drive contract negotiations and draft commercial agreements with customers and suppliers.

  • Provide legal advice to business partners on a wide range of legal issues, including software licensing, product sales and purchasing.

  • Provide legal guidance and support to internal stakeholders regarding development and implementation of strategies for software licensing.

  • Enable business partners to accomplish business goals, while minimizing risk for NXP.

  • Collaborate with co-workers within the Legal Department and across the company globally.

  • This is a hybrid position – minimum 3 days per week in the office/ maximum 2 days remote.

  • Occasional travel.

Experience needed

  • Fully qualified lawyer with Law degree from an accredited university.

  • 5-10 years of related experience in a law firm or in-house legal department of global corporation.

  • Experience managing complex commercial transactions, including product sales agreements and purchasing contracts.

  • Extensive experience negotiating and drafting software license agreements.

  • Experience leading contract negotiations with parties across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Experience in-house with an automotive OEM or tier 1 automotive supplier considered a plus.
