As well as being in the field at events, office work is required and may include making phone calls, sending emails, scheduling events in 25Live, and other office related tasks.
The position will require some lifting and moving small materials as well.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide support, information, and guidance in the process of scheduling and planning internal & external events in Liberty University facility. Assist with scheduling all departmental & summer camps. Scheduling, logistical planning and special coordination for all summer events, including summer camps and conference, weddings, graduations, and all summer events. Work onsite in event venues to oversee policies & ensure that the event runs smoothly. Perform office tasks such as answering phones, sending emails, creating spreadsheets, updating online software, and organizing materials. Help enforce University policies and standards for summer events and conference Help develop standard operational procedures for the University Events Office. Promote an atmosphere of professionalism and outstanding customer service in accordance with the Liberty Way. Complete special projects as assigned. Remains abreast of all events held on campus. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
Working toward a four-year degree in business or marketing or equivalent professional work experience required. Well-developed interpersonal communications skills and familiar with standard Microsoft Office computer software. High school diploma or equivalent GED required.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of two years of undergraduate study in business, sports, or event management preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office suite
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Prior customer service experience
Ability to handle challenging situations in a respectful and positive manner
Creative problem-solving skills
Able to work effectively under stressful circumstances
The ability to multitask and be attentive to details
Experience with managing projects and completing them in a quality and timely manner
Responsible and trusted individual with a strong work ethic
Ability to work long hours while standing and walking around
Previous work experience with event management and operations
Flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends
