Description
The University of Chicago’s Department of Neurology seeks a full-time epileptologist at the rank of Assistant Professor to join the growing Adult Epilepsy Center. The appointee will join an expanding team of epileptologists, neurosurgeons, and EEG technologists dedicated to delivering high-quality, multidisciplinary epilepsy care across the UChicago Medicine health system. Responsibilities will include inpatient and outpatient clinical care, with a primary focus on EEG interpretation, epilepsy monitoring unit coverage, and ambulatory services. Clinical activities will be based at UChicago Medicine’s Hyde Park campus and system-affiliated sites, including South Loop, Ingalls Flossmoor, and UChicago Medicine AdventHealth locations. Other duties will include the teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) have completed a residency program in adult neurology accredited by the ACGME, 3) have completed or will be completing an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Epilepsy and/or Clinical Neurophysiology, 4) be board certified or board eligible in Neurology, 5) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois.
