We are currently seeking a Linux Systems Administrator that will be working onsite in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi–disciplined environment. The Systems Administrator is required to have an active secret security clearance as they will be responsible for deploying and maintaining classified IT infrastructures.

What YOU will do:

  • You will provide System Administration in a heterogeneous Redhat 7 & 8 Enterprise Linux environment.

  • You will have an understanding and knowledge of Linux Server internals to include DNS, File sharing protocols, DHCP, AD integration via LDAP, file system structures and permissions. 

  • You will be working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.  Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).

  • You will understand data backup uses and technologies.

  • You will install and configure software applications requested by end users.

  • You will work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.

Education & Experience:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required.

  • You must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements within 6 months of start date.

  • Must have experience with Redhat servers and workstations.

  • Experience using VMware vCenter, vSphere, VDI (Horizon), and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.

  • Experience with Linux architecture, deployment, administration, performance monitoring/tuning, security hardening, and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with infrastructure backup, restore, disaster recovery and business continuity products.

  • Experience with NAS and / or SAN storage capabilities.

  • Experience with application installation and multi-server environment/deployment.

Skills We Value:

  • Scanning using tools such as Nessus and SCAP

  • Familiarity with High Performance Computing (HPC ) Environments

  • Experience with Enterprise Active Directory (AD) & LDAP

  • Familiarity with Databases including MariaDB, Oracle, and SQL

  • Experience dealing with Managed Anti-Virus (AV) solutions.

  • Scripting Experience (Bash, Python, Ansible) and Kickstart

  • Experience hardening systems using tools like SCAP and following STIGs.

  • Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
