Job Description

The Program Manager - Nursing Operations reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned programs and activities to support the mission, vision and goals of the NM LFH Nursing Strategic Roadmap including:
    • Develop budget and operating plan for programs
    • Develop evaluation methods to asses program strengths and opportunities for improvement
    • Evaluate/ensure funding for programs under oversite
    • Ensure programs support organizational goals for patient satisfaction, employee engagement and quality/safety
    • Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status
    • Ensure programs meet all defined requirements by oversite body (ie: ANCC, Magnet, IDPH, and JC)
    • Manage direct reports to support program success
  • Responsible for regulatory compliance for obstetric and neonatal accreditation
    • Responsible for ongoing Special Care Nursery (SCN) designations and compliance
    • Works closely with Accreditation and Leadership to ensure department compliance
    • Coordinates readiness activities and prepares team for IDPH site visits
    • Responsible for coordination and completion of the re-designation document
    • Submits timely IDPH document/application for re-designation verifying that all requirements are met prior to submission
    • Designs and implements processes to maintain and sustain IDPH performance requirements on ongoing basis for re-application in partnership with nurse leaders and clinical nurses.
    • Oversight of the Illinois Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes Reporting System (APORS),  Birth Certificates, Very Preterm Birth (VPB) and other IDPH requirements
  • Responsible for participation in Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative (ILPQC) program  
    • Responsible for LFH participation in ILPQC initiatives
    • Oversite of ILPQC projects working directly with team leads/champions to ensure completion
    • Works closely with Quality to oversee data  
    • Accountable for ILPQC initiatives, outcomes and sustainment
    • Ensures the coordination of teams, applications for awards and data entry
    • Coordinates conference and state meeting attendance for NLFH
    • Works directly with department leadership to ensure compliance
  • Responsible for managing the Perinatal Education Program
    • Responsible for developing/managing the Perinatal Education program
    • Oversight of all Perinatal Classes (e.g. class scheduling, content, collaboration, instructors etc)
    • Accountable for ensuring that all instructors supporting the Perinatal Education Program are appropriately oriented to the program (e.g., its operations, goals, resources, expectations)
    • Identifies and tracks quality outcome measures that are appropriate for the program
    • Responsible for EMMI, Parent Connect and other related services
  • Manage all LFH Maternity POI (non-employee) Programs
    • Responsible for all POI employees (Lactation, Bella Baby, Hearing Screening)
    • Oversite of Lactation and Breastfeeding programs
    • Analyzes and tracks Patient Experience, NDNQI , and Nurse Satisfaction data for performance
  • Charge Capture oversight
  • Additional Functions:
    • Establishes policies, procedures and standards of practice consistent with NMHC philosophy and strategic plan.
    • Establishes policies, procedures and standards of practice consistent with Illinois Department of Professional regulation, American Nurses Association Scope and Standards of Practice for Nursing and the Department of Nursing strategic roadmap.
    • Some on call responsibilities 
    • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Masters of Science in Nursing or completion within one year of hire
  • Registered Nursing license issued by the State of Illinois.
  • 3-5 years of experience in obstetrics or neonatal nursing
