The Role: Morning Consult is hiring an entrepreneurial strategic communications and market research leader to help drive value for a diverse and dynamic set of corporate clients. Success in this role requires a nuanced understanding of quantitative survey research, corporate brand/reputation, and messaging strategy. Those in this role should embody a consultative approach to client problem solving and have extensive experience bringing people together internally and externally to make projects come to life.
The ideal candidate will be excited by the opportunity to lead client relationships with some of the world’s most innovative and important organizations and conduct research on a diverse range of topics and analytical techniques. 
Whether it’s developing creative and impactful survey research, informing compelling data visualization, or providing insightful and prescriptive recommendations, those in this role should delight in helping our clients find value in our data-focused technology products. Internally, the Account Portfolio Leader will report directly to the Business Portfolio Leader and will help lead a team of market research professionals. They will also partner closely with Account Executives in their region to expand current client offerings and enhance commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Oversee a team and portfolio of accounts ($5M+), managing multiple work streams across diverse accounts and custom research needs
• Ensure team delivers quality, accurate data and strategic insights to inform critical business decisions for clients
• Manage to revenue retention and growth targets and provide monthly revenue forecast for their portfolio
• Drive growth at the sub-portfolio level, pushing contracts ahead of pace and recognizing usage and upsell opportunities, and pushing higher revenue projects
• Adopt and optimize best-practice team workflow
• Develop resolutions to critical client and Morning Consult issues, build internal thought leadership, and drive significant impact
• Create formal networks with key decision makers internally at Morning Consult and externally with clients, and serve as a spokesperson for the organization with clients
• Accountable for talent decision-making within the team - including performance management, development, coaching and mentoring staff outside of direct reports, and hiring talent 
• Model Morning Consult operating principles and values and holds others accountable for doing the same
• Delegate effectively and empower others to execute tasks with accountability

Desired Skills:

• Proven track record of success and experience in research design, execution, and analytics related to brand, reputation, audience measurement, campaign effectiveness, and/or innovation research
• Significant experience in a management role for a medium-to-large, high-growth team
• Experience in revenue management, reporting, and forecasting, as well as in driving account-level revenue growth
• Strong ability to delegate and prioritize work based on the scale of impact, helping their team and colleagues understand which problems are most urgent and why
• Strong leadership skills with an ability to develop top talent and promote a positive work experience 
• Proven ability to engage executive stakeholders with confidence, earn their trust as a partner, and positively impact client decisions and outcomes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills and the ability to craft data-driven frameworks and narratives for executive stakeholders (internal and external)
• Uncompromising attention to detail and appreciation for data-driven decisions
• Creative problem solver with an ability to simplify complex scenarios and challenges
