Discovery Ranch South is a relationship-based residential treatment center built on a beautiful, private ranch near Three Peaks Recreational Park and overlooking Cedar City, Utah. We work with teenage girls who are struggling with behavioral, mental, and substance abuse disorders. Through our evidence-based experiential approach, our students and their families start their healing journey.

As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Nutrition Assistant to join our team.
The Nutrition Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring the planning, preparation, and service of nutritious meals for our students, with a focus on special holidays, events, and accommodating various dietary needs. This position involves collaborating closely with the Nutrition Director and participating in a variety of tasks related to food planning and execution.
Duties include:
- Special Holiday and Event Planning:
- Plan and organize meals for special holidays, birthdays, recreational activities, working weekends, and religious/cultural holidays.
- Collaborate with the Nutrition Director to ensure menus align with dietary preferences and restrictions.
- PLP Job Execution:
- Oversee the planning, organizing, and execution of PLP (Peer Leadership Program) jobs related to food services.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure successful implementation of PLP tasks.
- Meal Preparation:
- Cook dinners on weekdays, ensuring high-quality and nutritious meals.
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals for students with special dietary needs and allergies.
- Collaborate with the Nutrition Director to meet individual nutritional requirements.
- Food Safety and Quality Standards:
- Ensure that all meals meet necessary safety and quality standards.
- Perform tasks related to the safe and hygienic handling of food, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Stock Management:
- Take careful stock of ingredients for future orders, ensuring an efficient and well-supplied kitchen.
- Collaborate with the nutrition director to manage inventory effectively.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with the nutrition director to plan and prepare nutritious meals that align with dietary guidelines.
- Set up and clean dining areas for students, creating a welcoming and sanitary environment.

Requirements
- 19+ years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Eligible to work in the USA
- Able to pass background check
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a school or institutional setting.
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions, allergies, and specialized diets.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
