Description
As a Physician Assistant at Frontier Psychiatry, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. We are seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to provide remote patient care for our Alaska-based clients. This position requires availability during the hours of 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM AKT (Alaska Time). role involves providing compassionate, high-quality care through telehealth, prescribing medications, and developing comprehensive treatment plans. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for patients.Key Responsibilities
Patient Care:- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients using evidence-based practices.
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic treatments for mental and behavioral disorders.
- Provide timely, patient-centered care tailored to each patient's needs.
- Work with mental health professionals, family members, and primary care providers to monitor and adjust treatment plans.
- Maintain professionalism and clear communication with patients and colleagues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Stay informed about advancements in psychiatry, including new medications and treatments.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Education, Experience & Requirements
Education & Certification:
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies required.
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Psychiatry is highly preferred.
- State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physician Assistant.
- Experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and telehealth platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of psychiatric disorders, treatments, and medications.
- Excellent communication skills for patient and team interactions.
- Ability to develop tailored treatment plans and adapt to patient needs.
- Strong attention to detail and professionalism.
