This role will be based at MECC, our Brooklyn Center facility
Designs, develops, tests, debugs and implements operating systems components, software tools and utilities
Determines systems software design requirements
Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency
Generates systems software engineering policies, standards and procedures
May work across a variety of software lifecycle activities as determined by program needs
Must Haves
Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of Automation/Controls Engineering experience OR advanced degree and 2+ years of experience
Nice to Have
Experience in Automation Engineering within Medical Device
Design for Manufacturability with Automation experience
Ability to identify and implement automation projects from multiple suppliers and integrate into fully automated work cell.
Ability to maneuver in a fast-paced environment while leading multiple suppliers
Self-starter and highly motivated individual that is comfortable working with many different management teams / styles with an aligned goal of process automation
Experience in equipment connectivity and data collection from PLC and PC based controllers
Knowledge of Kepware and Ignition software.
Ability to connect new sensors and determine best way to get data from these or back to the machine PLC.
Ability to work with site to define LAN drops and switch installs etc.
Organize downtime windows for machine upgrades / LAN drop installs etc
Knowledge of Databases and PC application (Telegraf) would be nice but not essential
