Position Summary

We are currently looking for a highly motivated individual to help lead Trupanion’s investor relations program as Director, Investor Relations. This individual will work closely with corporate communications team, finance team, business unit owners, and the Executive Team. The role will report to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications.

As Director of Investor Relations, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the company’s investor relations and communications strategy, and managing relationships with shareholders, prospective investors, and analysts.

This position is only open to candidates in the Seattle area. You will have a hybrid remote/in-office schedule that requires you to work from our casual, pet-friendly office 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, drive and deliver on a comprehensive Investor Relations strategy that clearly communicates Trupanion’s long-term vision, plans, and performance to the greater investment community
  • Enhance external communication strategies and messaging to provide an accurate, timely and insightful view of the company’s strategy, performance and financial outlook
  • Serve as a primary point of contact with the investment community in responding to inquiries and relaying feedback and perceptions to senior leadership
  • Plan and execute strategy for proactive outreach to shareholders, analysts and prospective investors
  • Help run the quarterly earnings process – including the preparation of the press release, conference call script, presentation and Q&A
  • Help plan, manage and run the Company’s Annual Shareholder Meeting, in partnership with Corporate Communications, finance, the Executive Team and external advisors
  • Manage creation of annual reports including Annual Letter to Shareholders, Corporate Social Responsibility Report and Proxy Statement, among others
  • Create presentation materials and prepare senior leadership for other investor events, including meetings, presentations and conferences

Requirements:

  • 5+ years leadership experience in investor relations, financial analysis or related field.
  • Proven success in leading IR activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to effectively build and manage relationships with cross-functional colleagues, business leaders, external analysts and investors.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to confidently interact with Trupanion Executive Team and Board of Directors.
  • Ability to independently develop recommendations on strategy, process improvements and deliverables based on prior experience the ability to quickly gain an understanding of the company and the industry.

Compensation:

  • The base pay for this position is $150,000 - $165,000 depending on experience. Along with base pay, Trupanion employees may be eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and corporate achievement.
  • We want all employees to be invested in Trupanion’s success, so we grant Restricted Stock Units to all new team members. Our new hire grants vest over 4 years.
