The Global Business Services (GBS) team is a function established within Boston Scientific, designed to improve the efficiency of key business processes by taking opportunities to drive standardization, leverage resources, knowledge and skills and monitor the effectiveness of service delivery against benchmarks and service level agreements. About the role as Accountant:

Magellan, our global business transformation program, is driving the migration of our ERP system from SAP ECC to S4 HANA. The goal of Magellan is to simplify, standardize, and modernize our core business processes, enabling BSC to harness the power of data for sustainable growth.

We are seeking an Accountant II to actively participate in the project of transferring the local distribution entity from SAP ECC to SAP S4 HANA system. Works with other teams within GBS and Supply Chain to gather the information and analyze the potential impacts and correlations. Attends workshops and supports testing activities. Performs a variety of duties in general accounting and financial planning such as analyzing accounts and cost centers, preparing reports, performing monthly financial close activities, external and internal reporting, monitoring SOX/internal control requirements. Continually identifies ways to improve and streamline processes.  

 

Your key responsibilities will include:  
 

•    Actively participate in the SAP transition project and support other team members involved in it. 

•    Work with the team members and other stakeholders on analyzing the impact of the system change and proper remediation plan for any risks raised. 

•    Support with preparing/gathering the documentation and testing of the new system functionalities. 
•    Optimize current financial accounting process in coordination with various stakeholders. 

•    Identify and implement process improvement and standardization. 

•    Support (backfill) the team with executing month/quarter/year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate close and financial reports preparation. 
•    Drive compliance in all finance-related matters and ensure compliance with Corporate and local policies, statutory requirements and GAAP principles. 
•    Apply LEAN methodologies to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes.
