Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location: Barnum Internal MedicinePosition: Licensed Practical NurseHours: Monday through Friday 8:00 – 5:00
Immediate Need for Temporary LPN
Barnum Internal Medicine is an established, fast-paced, private internal medicine practice hiring a full-time LPN. This position is responsible for providing nursing care for patients following established standards and practices.

Duties:

• Assists providers with coordination of patient care
• Obtains medical history and vital signs; documents in patient record
• Functions as primary liaison between patients and provider
• Prepares equipment and supplies and aids providers during treatment, examination, and testing patients
• Educates patients and families regarding diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition and maintenance of health and wellness
• Maintains and reviews electronic patient records
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information
• Returns patients’ phone calls with provider's answers as directed and returns pharmacy phone calls as directed
• Keeps exam rooms ready, clean and stocked for each patient visit
• Performs other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Skills:

• Current LPN license
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to manage time, organize, prioritize and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Professionalism and customer/patient focused
• HIPPA/privacy/confidentiality knowledge
• Infection control and OSHA guidelines
• Excellent written and verbal communication via phone and in person
• Experience with electronic patient records
