Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Sr. Marketing Proposal Specialist to work in collaboration with the East Region business development and operations team on pursuits, including partnering in the preparation of formal and informal client solicitations, including expressions of interest (EOI), requests for qualifications (RFQ), requests for proposals (RFP), and pre-qualification efforts.

This will be a remote position that can be based in, but not limited to: Arlington, VA; Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; Philadelphia, PA; Washington DC; Tampa, FL; Orlando, FL.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Possesses extensive knowledge of the company’s philosophy and policies.
  • Demonstrates substantial expertise as a marketing and proposal management generalist or specialist.
  • Possesses thorough job knowledge and is competent in all aspects of the job.
  • Performs advanced assignments requiring independent decisions and resolves problems using an exceptional degree of ingenuity.
  • Under limited supervision or general direction, completed work is reviewed for desired results.
  • Interfaces with technical and BD staff to develop submittals and materials to win new contracts for the company, and to manage the information infrastructure that enables the business to do so efficiently.
  • Provides leadership and direction to pursuit teams for proposals, including schedule, templates, compliance, content planning, messaging and production. May serve as lead writer/editor for resumes and past performance sections for proposals.
  • Leading a variety of proposals and presentations from pre-RFP positioning through to interview stage, as required. Participate in go/no-go and green light analyses in compliance with delegation of authority guidelines, capture planning and positioning activities as they pertain to preparation for the proposals.
  • Provides document design, while ensuring RFP instructions and internal brand guidelines pertaining to format, fonts, etc. are being followed.
  • Participates in go/no-go and greenlight analyses, capture planning and positioning activities as they pertain to preparation for the proposal.
  • Facilitates pink and red team, quality reviews, and applies lessons learned to add value to proposals. Manages the implementation of proposal and presentation revisions based on direction from review teams. Writes and edits tailored resumes and past performance sections for proposals. Provides grammatical and technical editing to ensure quality.
  • Supports special projects, as required, including providing guidance to entry-level proposal team members.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing or a related field + 6 years of relevant experience collaborating within a marketing team to lead and/or support proposal activity with key client and strategic pursuits in support of winning work, or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • A developed understanding of effective proposal and presentation strategy development and compliance, and writing and production.
  • Ability to produce accurate, compliant, and compelling work independently and with others.
  • Excellent writing skills, with an aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Proven organizational and administrative skills, including the ability to complete varied work tasks on schedule, and lead deliverable efforts by others; and the proven ability to manage documents.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of and interest in the A/E industry, including AECOM’s projects, people, credentials, and competitors is highly preferred
  • A detailed knowledge of marketing best practices and proced
