About the role

Description

Based out of our Everett office, the Delivery Driver - North Sound Route at Girl Scouts of Western Washington is a seasonal, part-time role responsible for delivering Girl Scout cookies to our many ‘Cookie Cupboards’ located throughout Puget Sound. During the cookie season (approximately February 20th through April 4th), drivers will load cargo vans and deliver cookies to designated locations between Kent and Bellingham, ensuring that Girl Scouts across Western Washington have the cookies necessary to meet their customers’ demand. This role requires working independently and may include unassisted loading and unloading of inventory. Drivers will work an estimated 20-50 hours per week during the season. 


While the full pay range for this position is $22.59 to $24.42 per hour, this position will start at $22.59 per hour for purposes of internal pay equity, adjusted for tenure for those previously employed by Girl Scouts.  


Please note GSWW will be closed from 12/21/24 through 1/5/25 for our Winter Break. We will begin reviewing applicants upon our return the week of 1/6/25, and our first round of interviews will tentatively be held during the weeks of 1/13 and 1/20.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service in a timely and professional manner to all volunteers that serve as our Cookie Cupboard Managers
  • Drive a Council-provided vehicle (cargo van or box truck) through  
  • Load, unload, and organize cookies, including stacking/unstacking pallets as necessary
  • Lift and carry 8-lb cases of cookies repeatedly throughout the day
  • Drive for extended periods of time, in varying weather conditions
  • Utilize mapping software or other tools to find delivery addresses efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records of daily assignments and deliveries
  • Communicate promptly via emails and text messages

  • Comfort and proficiency in driving cargo vans

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities


Education and Experience Required 

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Proven ability to complete tasks independently  in a professional manner

Preferred Skills and/or Experience

  • Experience driving a  24’ box truck a plus but not required

Other Qualifications

  • Must reside within Washington State, with preference of residence within our Council region of Western Washington.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license, proof of insurance, and the ability to fulfill extensive travel requirements throughout Western Washington
  • Satisfactory results from criminal background search
  • Willingness to maintain Girl Scout membership
  • Must be willing and able to come into a Girl Scouts of Western Washington office as needed or when requested
