Associate Professor, General Education

The Associate Professor, General Education is responsible for the development, administration, teaching, and evaluation of learners in one (or more) of the College’s general education courses. This role will advise and mentor students as well as monitor learner performance in accordance with course objectives and published schedules under the Director, General Education.  The Professor, General Education is the model Nightingale Faculty, who is the content expert in subject matter taught in respective domain. This role is charged with setting the standard of facilitation and will provide mentoring to other faculty on a reoccurring consistent basis.  

• Completes annual professional development and 

• Maintains membership in at least one professional association or 

• Maintains membership in one or more committee/subcommittee or 

• At least one submission to publication/presentation each 12 months and 

• Provide 1:1 or 1: many peer mentoring for current and/or new faculty or 

• Provide expertise and assistance with internal function process improvement  

. 

• Minimum of 5 years in experience in higher education, preferably online education 

• Minimum of 3 years teaching (online preferred)  

• Earned Master’s Degree in Domain from an accredited institution of higher learning  

• Minimum of 18 credit hours of direct study in the discipline being taught
