- Data Office
- Claims & Service, Insights & Solutions
- Knowledge & Development Solutions

Data Office:
The US Retail Markets Data Office turns data into a powerful competitive advantage for Liberty Mutual. On this dynamic team, you’ll help to set the strategy for data products, prototype data solutions, build reports, govern data for quality and compliance, and continuously optimize the value that data creates for our customers and company. This position will be aligned to the Distribution & Marketing Data Products team. Our team is responsible for partnering with our stakeholders in reporting and analytics to identify emerging data needs, building requirements, then working with our IT teams to solve for these needs in a scalable and future-proof pattern. We continue to enhance and deliver new data assets on Snowflake data platform. Our Solution Analysts are key to discovering what our stakeholders need, guiding IT in developing the best solutions possible and ensuring our users have everything they need to unlock the value our data holds.

Responsibilities:
Under minimal direction:
- Prototypes/develops data solutions of high complexity to meet the needs of the organization and business customers. Designs proof-of-concept solutions utilizing a comprehensive understanding of multiple coding languages to meet technical and business requirements, with an ability to perform iterative solution testing to ensure specifications are met. Maintains proof-of-concepts and prototype data solutions, and handles any assessment of their viability and scalability, with own team or in partnership with IT.
- Working with IT, helps to scale prototypes, and assists in building robust data assets, focusing on long-term strategic solutions. Creates effective requirements and documentation for new IT data development and deployment. Ensures IT requirements include criteria required to achieve data of high quality.
- Effectively and proactively communicates with stakeholders. Prioritizes efforts based on customer value. Can set expectations for deliverables of high complexity.
- Displays a working understanding of complex multi-tier, multi-platform data environments; can make recommendations for optimal technical solutions and best end-user experience. Understands and applies principles of data governance, compliance, and security.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of new technologies as needed to progress initiatives.
- Acts as a technical leader and mentor to junior associates.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in Snowflake data platform & services - data modeling, data profiling and ETL.
- Skilled in developing ETL processes using Python or other programming languages.
- Proficient in handling large data sets across various formats, including VSV, JSON, Parquet.
Qualifications
- Strong written and oral communication skills required
- Bachelor`s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline preferred
- Master`s in same or related disciplines strongly preferred
- 5-7 years experience in coding for data management, data warehousing, or other data environments, including, but not limited to, working in NoSQL implementation, ETL, Java, scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell), and the Hadoop stack
- 5-7 years experience as developer with top quadrant Business Intelligence tools
