Oncology WGS/MRD Staff Product Manager, Oncology

Summary:

Responsible for managing Illumina’s WGS and MRD applications.

 

Responsibilities:

Business Planning and Strategy:

• Defines and maintains the strategy and business plan for Illumina's oncology WGS and MRD programs
• Assesses market needs and gaps, opportunities and trends, and competitive landscape
• Defines business cases and project proposals for new product features
• Works with Commercial stakeholders to plan and execute annual sales plans to achieve revenue targets
• Partners with segment and regional marketing, medical affairs and other teams to define and obtain alignment on strategies and new program proposals

Product Lifecycle Management:

• Serves as customer advocate and product management representative on core teams; drives market requirements and tradeoff decisions
• Ensures efficiency and coordination of portfolio activities with other product managers
• Partners with Segment and Regional Marketing teams to provide guidance, input, and support for product updates and launches

Cross-functional Leadership:

• Provides vision and serves as key subject matter expert for oncology WGS and MRD programs and related strategy across the organization
• Establishes and maintains relationships with key customers and partners
• Provides input (e.g., product, service needs) to technical platform roadmap

 

Skills Required:

• Experience developing, launching and sustaining molecular tests in the LDT or IVD markets
• Strong knowledge of oncology molecular diagnostics testing market
• Deep knowledge of MRD and WGS applications highly preferred
• Knowledge and experience in genomics and next generation sequencing, preferred
• Understanding of clinical customers, laboratory workflows and validation activities, from sample to result, as well as downstream activities through patient reporting
• Understanding of global regulatory and reimbursement considerations
• Ability to own both long-term strategy and executional detail
• Ability to solve complex problems informed by robust analysis and multiple data points
• Experience conducting market research, survey analysis, voice of customer, and other foundational marketing and product management activities
• Experience creating market models and sales projections, and setting pricing policies
• Experience leading cross-functional teams, and demonstrated ability to influence across the organization at all levels
• Exceptional time and project management skills and ability to independently prioritize competing requests
• Strong knowledge of Excel and business modeling
• Strong written, communication and presentation skills
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

 

Qualifications and Other Requirements:

• BS or BA in engineering, marketing, or genomics-related field; MBA preferred
• 5+ years in product management, preferably molecular testing
• 8+ years of experience in marketing, sales or other customer-facing role in Life Sciences or Clinical field; advanced degree can substitute for some work experience
• Able to travel approximately 20% on average
