About the Team

The core focus of the WM AdTech teams is to develop and implement new innovative solutions for Walmart customers, which scales significantly with business demand and enhance Walmart cloud platforms.Our team of software engineers are creating new frameworks to ingest Peta bytes of customer data from different channels in real time and batch to provide services to both onsite and offsite ad targeting. As a Senior  Software Engineer, you’ll spend your days translating requirements into solutions, writing code, collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing us with the insights necessary to think beyond the status quo. You’ll oversee small project teams consisting of other engineers who will look to you as a trusted advisor, a subject matter expert who provides guidance and the right tools to get the job done.

What you'll do :

- Designing, developing, and testing robust, scalable APIs using REST or GraphQL.
- Building and maintaining efficient and reliable code, with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving.
- Working with SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
- Contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing.
- Collaborating with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server side logic.
- Implementing security and data protection measures.
- Identifying and resolving performance and scalability issues.
- Participating in code reviews to maintain high-quality code.
- Coordinating with different teams for cross-functional requirements.Our ideal candidate is a skilled problem solver with a strong understanding of software architecture and design. They should have a strong understanding of how to work with high-volume data platforms and have a passion for learning about new technologies and trends in the industry.

Develop, prototype, build technology driven software products that will serve the current and future needs of Walmart connect AdTech platform using the latest technologies like spark with Scala, Spark streaming etc.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead and participate in medium- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; gathering requested information (for example, design documents, product requirements, wire frames); writing and developing code; conducting unit testing; communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders; collaborating with project team and cross functional teams; troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes; ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs; interacting with project manager to provide input on project plan; and providing leadership to the project team.

What you'll bring:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in API development.
- Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (Elasticsearch, Druid, MySQL).
- Familiarity with Spark, Scala and/or Spark Streaming technologies.
- Understanding of distributed systems and big data platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
