Registered Nurse (RN) System Float Pool Pediatrics

About the role

Inova Health Systems is seeking flexible, experienced, highly skilled Pediatrics nurses to join our system wide float pool, Inova Staffing Solutions. RNs must have a minimum of three years experience to the focus of the nursing specialty and must be willing to be assigned to any of our five hospital locations Alexandria, Fairfax Medical Campus, Fair Oaks, Loudoun and Mount Vernon locations. This is a full-time benefited position.

The Registered Nurse (RN) for Staffing Solutions will float daily to any site of care within Inova Health System. This role will provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patients, families, nurses and healthcare delivery teams. This role will consistently provide safe care in a holistic and systematic way while incorporating differences into the provision of care. This role will also serve as an empowering body to influence patient empowerment and successful outcomes of financial and clinical quality through relationships and access-based knowledge.

This is a NIGHT shift position.

Pediatrics Cluster

Experienced, highly skilled, flexible pool supporting the daily staffing needs of Inova Health System Pediatric Units.  It is necessary to have well developed skills and talents to be fully functional on any unit within a professional cluster with minimal orientation and supervision.  Adaptability, flexibility, the appeal of experiencing new environments and teams are defining characteristics.  All these factors combined with excellent organizational and service skills summarize the quintessential Staffing Solutions nurse.

This role will float to the following units: NICU, PICU, PCICU, Peds IMC, Peds Oncology, Peds M/S

This position:

  • Demonstrates evidence of self-development by obtaining a minimum of six formal contact hours.
  • Maintains own Employee Continuing Education Record.
  • This wonderful opportunity offers an hourly wage of $85.
  • Strong preference to candidates actively working in this area of specialty. 

Requirements:

  • 3 years of Registered Nurse clinical experience specific to the focus of the nursing unit
  • Education: BSN or ADN - If ADN then complete BSN within 5 years of start date 
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP (Inova accepts American Heart Association)
  • RN licensed, and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others. Proficient computer skills required.
