The Sr. Program Quality Engineer at our Fairdale (Louisville, KY) location will support the Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) – Product Support (PS) business area.  This business area supports depot repair and maintenance services, logistics solutions, sustainment, training, and staffing solutions. This is a fulltime onsite position. Some travel (~10%) may be required to support activity at supplier sites. 

The primary responsibility of the selected candidate is to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Spares program as a Program Quality Lead.  The individual will lead all disciplines of Quality and lead a matrix group of Receiving, Supplier and Operation Quality team. Additionally, this role will require strong collaboration skills as they will be required to work with cross functional teams, external customers, and suppliers.  This role will lead Quality aspects from Program Proposal stage through completing Contractual deliveries. They will act as the voice of the customer to independently assure mission success. They are responsible for planning and implementing the program quality system consistent with internal and customer requirements. The individual will provide program direction to assure quality tasks are accomplished within budget and on time. The individual will identify/implement specific quality improvement activities, address systemic issues (using robust RCCA root cause corrective action methods), and be a champion of Quality culture.

What You Will Do

  • Manage Quality and Mission Assurance tasks, provide guidance and direction to matrixed Quality organization (2 Quality Engineers) towards flawless execution of contractual commitment.
  • Interface with the program teams, customers, and cross-functional organizations, supporting technical quality performance and ensuring compliance to Raytheon procedures and contractual requirements.
  • Serve as a program quality liaison across Defense Logistics Agency customer organizations.
  • Act as first responder for quality issues and concerns related to customer deliveries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partner with program leadership team to define and implement quality improvement strategies.
  • Serve as the focal point for all Mission Assurance activities such as contract flow down, tailoring procedures, conducting/supporting audits and providing metrics.
  • Perform Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) activities for systemic issues and to ensure effective RCCA.
  • Accountable in resolution of customer expectations and relationships related to Mission Assurance and Quality.
  • Contribute to improving processes or systems using CORE and/or six-sigma practices.
  • Able to travel at minimum 10%.

Qualification You Must Have

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Working experience with Quality Management Systems, to include ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or AS9102.
  • Experience with continuous improvement activities driven by Six Sigma and/or CORE fundamentals.
  • Working experience with failure analysis, root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions.
  • Working experience interpreting technical drawings. 
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
