job purpose:
Able and available to perform all processing positions in the absence of the operator who normally performs the job. This includes Separator Operator, RO Milk Operator, Membrane Operator, Pre Batching Operator, VTIS Operator and CIP Operator.
responsibilities:
Operate milk separating equipment in the processing department in a safe and sanitary manner following all GMP’s. Operations include receiving/coordination of raw milk, separation, selection of skim milk and cream tanks/silos, monitoring and maintaining process controls of heat exchanger process variables and documenting accurate recordings of process parameters while in operation. Cleaning the processing equipment which includes hand cleaning parts, clean-in-place (CIP) and clean out of place (COP) operations on a daily basis. Perform any other duties assigned by management.
- Know proper established start up and shut down procedures.
- Maintain proper process parameters and quality of product being produced.
- Monitor pressures, temperatures, flow rates, etc. and document as required.
- Know and maintain process specifications. Contact supervisor/manager if issues occur.
- Properly clean process equipment such as silos, cream storage silos, balance tanks, lines, valves and pumps and heat exchangers.
- Test CIP solution strengths and log on CIP log.
- Service pumps, valves and heat exchangers as needed and/or per preventative maintenance schedule.
- Possess the ability to troubleshoot and resolve processing issues.
- Responsible for system efficiencies.
- Develop and train team members.
All areas duties:
- Aid in the training of new personnel.
- Report immediately to foreperson or supervisor of any damage, irregular activity, or unsafe conditions concerning the equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area. Facility must remain audit ready at all times.
- Follow all company safety, working, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

A High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
- High School level verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computational skills required. Simple math reasoning required.
- Must be able to operate the equipment effectively after the appropriate break-in period.
