About the Role:
The Einstein for Developers Team in the Salesforce Developer Experience area is searching for an LMTS (Lead Member of Technical Staff) to join our team. We are a remote-first team building the Einstein for Developers extension for VS Code powered by Salesforce’s own AI Platform. If you’re passionate about working in open source using modern technologies to design and build an enhanced developer experience for our customers, this is the place to be. We have a tight feedback loop with our community allowing us to iterate fast and deliver value. We’re looking for an individual with a curious mind, interested in solving complex problems with creative solutions. An ideal candidate is an engineer with experience building VS Code Extensions. Salesforce Platform and some Java experience can be helpful.

Responsibilities:
 

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain VSCode-Extensions using Typescript, adhering to industry coding standards and best practices.

  • Review pull requests, asking clarifying questions, providing productive guidance, and ensuring a healthy code base.

  • QA test your own work and the work of others to ensure the health of our product for continuous delivery on Windows, Mac, and Linux.

  • Work with UX designers to create a great experience. Decompose those UX experiences for planning and development.

  • Work with agile methodologies, such as sprints or Kanban, to deliver projects in a timely manner.

  • Work closely with product owners and stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical specifications to ensure smooth integration and delivery of software components.

  • Act as a mentor to junior engineers in the team. And lead them to successfully deliver on projects.


Technical Requirements:

  • Experience with IDE extensions development, such as Visual Studio or other chromium based IDEs.

  • Use VS Code APIs to build Custom Commands, enhance support for any major Object oriented languages or scripting languages like JS and deliver custom user experiences inside VS Code.

  • Proven experience in developing VSCode-Extensions using Typescript.

  • Familiarity with popular VS Code APIs, libraries and Git.

  • Strong knowledge of TypeScript, Nodejs, JavaScript, and web technologies (HTML, CSS) is essential.
