About the role

Overview

The Associate Director, Revenue Cycle Management is a highly skilled individual contributor with deep expertise in the full spectrum of revenue cycle processes. This role focuses on analyzing, optimizing, and supporting critical functions within the revenue cycle, with direct impact on revenue performance and CPT allowable success. The Operations Manager collaborates closely with RCM leadership to identify inefficiencies, monitor key metrics, implement process improvements, and provide operational insights. The role is also actively involved in M&A diligence support, Medicare compliance, and reporting, contributing to the continuous improvement and scalability of the organization’s revenue operations. This role is actively engaged in the adherence to standard generating procedures, execution of strong critical thinking skills in identifying problems, crafting solutions, data analysis and execution through team collaboration and partnership. Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building.

Responsibilities

Revenue Optimization & Analysis

· Provide strategic oversight of revenue cycle data analytics, influencing business decisions through deep trend, risk, and opportunity analyses.

· Lead the development and monitoring of KPIs, including denial rates, CPT allowable trends, and no-response metrics; proactively escalate issues and drive targeted improvements through leadership influence and partnership.

· Serve as a key advisor to RCM leadership, guiding revenue-impact evaluations and driving performance accountability across teams.

 

Denials Management

· Lead denial trend analyses with a focus on minimizing avoidable denials and maximizing payment outcomes across all payer categories.

· Collaborate directly with senior leadership to shape data-driven improvement strategies and mobilize team execution plans.

· Oversee post-implementation evaluations and communicate actionable performance feedback to leadership to guide continuous improvement.

 

M&A Support

· Act as a revenue cycle leader in M&A activities, guiding due diligence processes through financial and operational data review.

· Advise on risk mitigation and integration strategies to ensure revenue continuity and organizational alignment post-acquisition.

· Maintain executive-level discretion in managing all M&A communications and strategic data.

 

Medicare Process Oversight

· Provide leadership in ensuring compliance and efficiency in Medicare billing practices, influencing policy adherence and reimbursement timeliness.

· Lead root cause analyses on Medicare case activity to proactively resolve payment delays and optimize revenue capture.

· Drive strategic corrective actions in collaboration with compliance and finance teams to address gaps.

 

Revenue Cycle Performance Monitoring

· Lead performance monitoring initiatives, creating actionable insights and dashboards for senior leadership review.

· Influence strategic alignment of daily revenue cycle operations with long-term business objectives.

· Mentor team members on best practices and performance accountability to build operational excellence.

Continuous Improvement & Strategic Support

· Champion continuous process improvement efforts, leveraging data to identify performance gaps and efficiency barriers.

· Lead the design and implementation of scalable solutions that enhance workflow automation, accuracy, and team capacity.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Act as a strategic liaison across departments, building partnerships that align cross-functional efforts with enterprise revenue goals.

· Provide interim leadership for critical functions during periods of transition or leave, ensuring operational continuity.

· Foster a high-performance team culture by modeling collaboration, initiative, and shared accountability.

 

Additional Duties

· Assist in special projects and performance initiatives as needed.

· Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and operational reviews.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

· 5+ years in Revenue Cycle Management across core functions.

· 2+ years in a role supporting leadership or managing key operational responsibilities.

· 5+ years team leadership experience.

 

 

Skills & Competencies

· Strong analytical and reporting skills with a focus on results.

· Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and healthcare billing regulations including Medicare.
