Sr. Tax and Compliance Specialist

ContinuumCloud is hiring a Sr. Tax and Compliance Specialist to join our Client Success team. This person will report to the Sr. Manger of Tax and Compliance and will be responsible for ensuring payroll tax accuracy and maintain compliance with tax regulations for all current and new clients. This Specialist will also be responsible for producing monthly, quarterly, and annual tax packets, and resolving jurisdiction correspondence.

Requirements
How you’ll make an impact:
- Research and maintain the tax compliance of e3 system, from the federal, state, and local levels within the appropriate timeframe
- Review, propose and make necessary updates to the tax tables
- Resolve client questions expediently in a sense of urgency, with a high level of service and communicate with them regarding the tax returns and jurisdiction correspondences
- Stay up to date with new tax regulations for federal, state, and local taxing authorities
- Reconcile and conduct all tax analysis (balancing, data mapping & tax setup) for new clients onboarding
- Work with team to update the status of key tasks relating to quarter and month end
- Follow up on issues to assure the problem has been resolved and client or specialist communication/update has occurred
- Identify and document payroll tax problems and trends and recommend automation to eliminate the same problem in the future
- Actively participate as a member of the team and support other team members as needed, including fill-in work for specialists, as required
- Assist Associates in explaining complex tax questions/edits to clients
- Handle time-sensitive tax issues
- Assist in training new hires and current team members on tax reporting processes
- Other duties as assigned
What you bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; or equivalent work experience in payroll, accounting, or tax
- 3-5 years of experience preparing and filing payroll tax returns
- Familiarity with Federal, State and Local payroll taxes (including income tax, unemployment, disability, etc.)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Working knowledge of Excel including formulas required, knowledge of macros a plus
- Experience with Salesforce a plus
- Strong organization and follow up skills
- Willing and able to adapt to a changing work environment
- Basic understanding of creating and maintaining PDF forms extremely helpful
