General Duties & Responsibilities


Reporting to the COO, the Senior HR Specialist - Benefits, Payroll & HR Operations is a corporate-level role responsible for overseeing and managing key HR operational functions across the organization, with a focus on employee benefits administration, payroll processing and HR operations. The role supports enterprise-wide HR initiatives and ensures compliance, operational efficiency and a consistent employee experience across all business units and locations.  As a corporate HR representative, the team member will work closely with regional HR teams, external vendors and internal stakeholders, acting as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex HR operational matters.  


  Benefits Administration

  • Administer and manage employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, FSA/HSA, wellness programs, and retirement plans.
  • Serve as the corporate point of contact for benefits-related inquiries, vendor coordination, and escalated employee issues.
  • Lead annual benefits renewal and open enrollment processes in collaboration with benefits brokers and providers.
  • Ensure      compliance with corporate policies, federal and state regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, COBRA), and best practices.

Payroll Administration:

  • Oversee and ensure accurate processing of corporate payroll cycles, in collaboration with Finance and third-party payroll vendors.
  • Manage corporate-level payroll changes, including executive compensation, bonuses, and special payroll actions.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with all applicable tax laws and labor regulations across multiple states or regions.
  • Support payroll audits and reporting requirements for corporate leadership and external agencies.

HR Operations:

  • Maintain and optimize corporate employee records and HR data in the HRIS.
  • Develop and maintain HR reporting dashboards, providing insights to senior leadership.
  • Ensure consistency and compliance across HR policies and procedures within all corporate functions.

Lead or support cross-functional HR projects, systems implementations, and process improvement initiatives at the corporate level. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or HR certifications      preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a corporate or multi-site environment, with a strong focus on benefits and      payroll.
  • Solid understanding of employment legislation and payroll practices.
  • Experience with HRIS system. 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.

Physical & Environmental Considerations:  

Work Environment: Normal lighting levels, temperature ranges, air quality, ventilation and noise levels. Physical Demands: 

Lifts, carries, pushes or otherwise manipulates equipment and   office materials weighing up to 25lbs. Always use proper lifting and moving protocols and techniques. Work Hazards: Contact with blood, body fluids and other infectious drainage. Minimal hazards if required   Universal Precautions are followed.
