OnsiteYou will be innovating in our engineering team within the Furnace Deck department- an operations center of chemical vapor deposition reactors and supporting equipment such as direct fire thermal oxidizers, steam educator vacuum systems, oil-water separation systems, etc. As a Process Engineer Intern for the Furnace Deck department, your responsibilities are centered around monitoring and maintaining both product and process health, collaborating with operators to ensure safe and effective process methods, developing and driving innovative solutions to reduce cost and cycle time, reduce product and process variation, increase department capacity, improving safety and ergonomics, and transitioning to use of automation and new technologies.
What You Will Do:
- Perform data analysis on production runs and supporting unit operations which need improvement
- Work directly with operations, engineers, mechanics and internal customers to progress analysis and project work
- Utilize PI datalink, PI vision, MS project, Minitab, and similar software to collect data and analyze meaningfully
- Present findings, participate in root cause analysis, and lead meetings
- Implement visuals, procedures and interactive tools to support operations
What You Will Learn:
- Day-to-day functioning of an engineering team with an Operations group
- Forming a project around a hypothesis for unit operation improvement
- Use of PI datalink software to view historical chemical process data
- Use of PI vision to build graphics that help engineers, operators, and mechanics resolve process issues
- Exposure to lean manufacturing principles
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

Qualifications We Prefer:
- Chemical Engineering, Mechanical engineering, or Industrial Engineering disciplines preferred.
