The Occupational Health Nurse is part of the Safety Health & Environmental Department and is entrusted to support factory safety activities, work to improve overall employee health and wellness, and promote the health and safety of the employees in the workplace. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Injury management, charting, medical notes/documents, medical orders/standing orders, durable medical equipment, and fall protection. 
  • Creates, manages, and retains all medical records for factory employees.
  • Leads the Ergo/Safety Team and the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
  • Represent Nestle as the Workers' Compensation Administrator for the Trenton factory and act as a liaison for the Company with local physicians, other health care agencies and third party administrators for worker's compensation claims.
  • Must be able to have a flexible schedule with some weekends.
  • Documentation of records for Flash 18 (hyperbarics) schedules chest x-rays, tank physicals, and annual hearing tests.
  • OSHA 300 and 300A Log; Workers Compensation.
  • Develops and updates safety policies and procedures with the Safety Health & Environmental Department.
  • Continuing education and development of the Emergency Response Team
  • Works closely with Human Resources with Health & Wellness and Dr’s notes for Return to Work and/or Short Term Disability/Modified Duty.
  • Maintains First Aid Supplies; monitors vaccines; reviews invoices for medical.
  • Flexible schedule to cover all shifts; On Call
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Minimum of 2 - 5 years of relevant work experience (i.e. EMT/ EMR/ Nurse experience)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software and web-based applications
  • Certified in CPR and AED use
