Job Description

Join our HII Mission Technologies team. We work on the only shipyard to execute the Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. The mid-life RCOH includes refueling of nuclear reactors, overhauling most machinery, and modernizing warfare systems. RCOH ensures the Navy's aircraft carriers incorporate improved capabilities needed for success in the remaining 25 years of service. Your accomplishments will make a positive impact supporting the U.S. Navy and America’s national defense! We are seeking a Team Lead to join our growing team. The selected candidate will be Leading the RCOH Aircraft Carrier Climate Control Improvement Team (ACCCIT) in the overhaul and repairs of various supply and exhaust ventilation systems.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Leads technical teams for installations and repairs, within or across technical trades specialty. Has the ability to manage, oversee, schedule, and assign tasks to one or more multiple jobs. Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment while performing a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time. Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change while maintaining effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 6 years of related experience to include at least 2 years of team/deck lead experience. Prefer technical/professional certifications.
  • Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
  • Must understand the Tag out Procedure.
  • Must exhibit leadership experience and past work experience managing teams performing trades. 

Preferred Requirements

•    Prefer technical/professional certifications in the mechanical field.
•    Exhibit leadership skills, communication skills, and ethical decision-making.
•    Knowledgeable of various supply and exhaust ventilation systems.
•    Computer based knowledge a plus.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in
