Occ Summary
Plan and provide advanced and/or specialized nursing care for patientsin accordance with guidelines established withi n the Discipline ofNursing ClinicalLadder Program; participate in educat ional activities,departmental committees, research projects or other hea lth relatedprojects as assigned. Provide nursing services to patients an dfamiliesin accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North CarolinaBoard of Nursing.
Work Performed
Identify careneeds for patient populations at the unit level. Provideleadership in t he development of standards of care, patient/familyeducation and staff e ducation to address the needs of specificpopulations.Participate in educ ational activities, departmental committees, researchprojects and otherh ealth-related projects as assigned.Provide direction and guidance in the proper use, care and control ofmaterial resources; appraise quality and effectiveness of material andequipment and communicate to responsiblein dividuals.Anticipate potential safety concerns in the environment of car e andintervene.Guide the professional growth of others at the unit level throughprecepting, role modeling, coaching and/or mentoring.Provide lea dership at a unit level for initiatives designed to improvethe qualityof care or clinical outcomes for populations of patients andgrowth of othe rs.Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
