Senior Associate Scientist - Scientist – HT Plasmid Production - Vaccine

The Senior Associate Scientist/Scientist will be part of the High-Throughput Plasmid Production team carrying out routine DNA analytics tasks and developing automation method development to deliver high quality DNA products for High-Throughput In-vitro Transcription work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Routinely support high-throughput DNA (HT-DNA) team with DNA analytics, track, and log details in Benchling.

• Actively support all the high-throughput deliverable projects as needed.

• Work with Scientists and Automation engineers to develop and validate new methods on HT instruments.

• Independently operate HT instruments such as Hamilton Vantage, QPix, Fragment Analyzer, KingFisher etc.

• Independently document experiments, analyze data, write experiment reports, and present findings and conclusion in professional setting.

• Follow SOP precisely and reliably to generate DNA templates for in-vitro transcription work as needed.

• Work with HT-DNA team members to manage, track and order lab supplies on a regular basis.

• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.

• Experience with LIMS, maintain accurate tracking and documentation in Benchling electronic notebook.

• Be a collaborative team player with a strong work ethic and able to follow verbal instructions clearly.

• Ability to multi-task without making mistakes and finish projects within given timeline.

• The individual should be able to function in a timeline driven, dynamic environment and be able to follow instructions in SOPs and adapt to the changes in protocols and projects quickly.

• This is a lab-based position requires standing and hands-on during regular working hours.

Qualification:

• BS or MS in Genetics, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering or related fields with more than 3 years of relevant industry or academic experience or PhD with less than one year postdoc experience (please add as per Sanofi requirement)

• Experience with liquid handlers is required.

• Experience with high-throughput DNA analytics – DNA concentration measurement using UV/Vis absorbance spectrometer, DNA integrity test via Fragment analyzer, DNA sequencing via NGS or Sanger sequencing.

• NGS experience with library preparation for short and/or long read sequencing, hybridization capture and/or next generation sequencing applications is preferred

• Ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of molecular cloning techniques (restriction digestion based cloning, Gibson Assembly, Hi-Fi Assembly, In-Fusion cloning) 

• Hands-on experience with a range of molecular biology techniques - PCR, agarose gel electrophoresis, nucleic acid purification, sequencing etc.

• Experience in using molecular biology software such as Geneious is a must. 

• Must be well organized, self-motivated, proactive, work well under pressure and deadlines and detail oriented.  

• Ability to multi-task and coordinate work on several simultaneous projects.

• Ability to collaborate effectively both within and across teams. Must be a team player.
