Are you a passionate, motivated Software Developer interested in a rewarding career in the Defense Industry?  We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with embedded development experience to join our Space and RF Sensors team at Raytheon in Fort Wayne, IN

What You Will Do:

  • Participation on collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, employing agile software development techniques and resources to plan, design, develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions for aerospace and defense applications.

  • Responsible for some or all of a Software product, contributing as a software team member and possibly leading a small software team.

  • Responsibilities spanning the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design, through integration, test, and field support.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Minimum 5+ years of Professional Software development experience.

  • Proven self-motivated problem solver who can look at a situation, identify gaps or issues, and take initiative to resolve them (technically, with process, and with documentation)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, Python or other computer languages.

  • Proficiency with Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles and practices.

  • Proficiency with Agile lifecycle process including Scrum, Continuous Integration and Test-Driven Development Methodologies

  • Experience with software testing and debugging tools.

  • Experience developing on Red Hat Linux or equivalent OS

  • Experience using version control tools like Git.

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems

  • Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Knowledge of DevOps and DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and secure software development methodologies

  • Experience leveraging Generative AI and Machine Learning to improve productivity, collaboration, and performance

  • Experience with gRPC and Protobufs

  • Experience with Linux, VxWorks, INTEGRITY, or other RTOS

  • Familiarity with Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles.
