About the role

Job Overview

The Associate Quality Engineer will provide Quality Assurance, Quality Systems, and Supplier Quality support for the MOV Block plant (Wadsworth, Ohio). Also, will provide laboratory testing services such as mechanical, environmental, high-voltage, high-power and continuous current testing to Hubbell Arrester business unit. Typical products tested are MOV (metal oxide varistor) blocks.

A Day In The Life

  • Monitor, Audit, and Evaluate Production Processes
  • Perform product testing of MOV blocks by operating test equipment in an ISO 9001 certified test laboratory.
  • Execute test plans using prescribed test methods, laboratory quality documents and industry standards.
  • Write test reports accurately describing test objects, equipment used, test procedures and test results.
  • Provide technical support to other members of assigned department.
  • Participate in various non-testing activities such as maintenance, calibration, training, cleaning, projects, etc. as assigned by assigned supervisor.
  • Management of Calibration Systems, Tooling, and Instrumentation
  • Lead and/or participate in Problem Solving and Troubleshooting activity for electro-mechanical and mechanical devices
  • CAPA involvement
  • Participate in the Internal Audit program
  • Participate in cross functional teams with internal, remote engineering groups with regard to testing plans for product development, R&D, design/process/supplier changes.
  • Identify and address issues regarding Control of Nonconforming Material
  • Must be a self-starter with strong drive, initiative, and ability to work with limited management input

What will help you thrive in this role?

Required:  

  • Minimum  technical degree, trade school or relevant associate degree.
  • Experience from an electrical background, either an accredited program or a degree
  • Relevant experience with electricity, power generation, line maintenance, automation, machining or product testing.
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001-2015 registered, or equivalently certified QMS\

​​​​​​​ Preferred but not required:           

  • Proficiency drafting and design utilizing Autodesk products.
  • Experience coding in visual basic, C or other modern programming language.
  • Allen Bradley PLC programming.

 

Physical Requirements of the role;

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, ability to communicate; ability to work on a personal computer or other related equipment as required.
