Occ Summary
The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CVIS) will utilize professional cardiovascular theory, technology and processes to implement directpatient care on adult patients that require diagnostic or therapeuticprocedures within the cardiovascular service. Demonstrates role-specificcompetence and assists physicians in diagnosing and treati ng cardiac andperipheral vascular disease and cardiac arrhythmias in the CathLab, EPLab, and Hybrid OR specializing in the care of patients under goingangioplasty, stent placement, vascular procedures, mechanical suppo rtdevice placement (IABP, non-durable ventricular assist device, etc.), EPdevices, cardiac ablations, and tilt table exams.

Work Performed
Meets the duties and responsibilities of Cardiovascular In vasiveSpecialist IPlan, provide and document care of cardiovascular inva sivelabs patients in accordance with physician orders and establishedpol icies and procedures. Use professional clinical judgment in assistingthe provider to plan the care for the patient based on the assessment ofthe patient's diagnosis, needs and response to care. Work in anorganized an d timely fashion by prioritizing tasks to ensure efficientand efficaciou s patient care. Meets challenges of case volumes andpatient care issues to ensure optimal care and outcomes. Ensure qualityand accuracy of dataa nd reportsvariances to provider.Equipment Operation:Operate, inspect, tr oubleshoot and perform routine maintenance forvariety of invasive lab eq uipment. Effectively operate all devicesutilized in procedures. Initiate maintenance or service request forequipment that is damaged or malfunct ioning.Daily Room Preparations:Prepare procedure room and equipment for daily use and each procedure.Ensure enough stock on hand to accommodate routine daily case volumes.Conduct in-room inventory and supply manageme nt. Is aware of and storesall patient care products according to TheJoin t Commission regulations.Data Collection: Document, retrieve and verify data necessary forpatient records.Participate in own professional develo pment by maintaining requiredcompetencies, identifying learning needs an d seeking appropriateassistance or educational offerings.Support the dev elopment of other staff and formal learners.Participate in performance i mprovement activities.Adhere to standards including but not limited tou nit and health systempolicies and procedures, regulatory standards, and patient safetygoals.Resource for others in use of advanced skills and co llaborateswith team to individualize the plan ofcare.Refer to CVIS clini cal ladder
