As an LVT at the ASPCA Animal Hospital, you’ll play a vital role caring for animals who have experienced cruelty and neglect, while working alongside a dedicated team focused on eliminating barriers to essential veterinary care—ensuring every pet receives compassionate, high-quality treatment, no matter their owner's financial circumstances.
Who We Are
The ASPCA Animal Hospital (AAH) is designed to provide life-saving care and relieve suffering for animal victims of cruelty and neglect who come to us through internal partners (our own ASPCA adoption center, kitten nursery, and community advocate team) and external partners (NYPD and other NYC organizations). Additionally, we provide subsidized care exclusively for animals whose owners are experiencing financial challenges and could not otherwise afford medical care for their pet.

What You’ll Do
The AAH Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) plays a pivotal role in setting the standard for clinical excellence, professionalism, and compassionate care within our hospital. Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians are the heart of our medical team—driven by a passion for animal welfare and a commitment to ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of care.
At AAH, you'll work side-by-side with a dedicated group of professionals to provide skilled, efficient, and empathetic treatment to both outpatients and hospitalized animals. You'll be empowered to use your full range of technical skills while collaborating closely with veterinarians and fellow technicians to deliver practical, high-quality care in a mission-driven environment.
In this role, you'll also have opportunities to support the incredible work being done at the Animal Recovery Center (ARC), stepping in to assist as needed with cases involving animals rescued from cruelty, neglect, and disaster situations.

Schedules Available:
- Wednesday - Saturday 10a-8p (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday off)
- Wednesday – Saturday 12pm-10pm (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday off)
- Monday/Tuesday 8a-6p & Thursday/Friday 1p-11p (Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday off)
What You’ll Get
Compensation
The target hiring range for this role is $34.60 - $37.00 per hour.
In addition to a competitive salary this role offers a signing bonus, and a relocation bonus is available for people living in a qualifying distance from our facility. Also, we are a qualified employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
