About the role
Are you an experienced shipping and receiving manager looking for your next great opportunity? The Supervisor, Shipping and Inventory serve as the lead for site packaging/shipping needs and supports all Altasciences site for Import and Export issues and troubleshooting. Ensures that packages are shipped according to required laws and guidelines, including availability of permits as needed. Ensures that chain of custody is maintained during all parts of the packaging/shipping process. Schedules and monitors shipments for internal and external clients. Works in collaboration with the various departments as required.
What You’ll Do Here
Manage receiving and inventory of all incoming materials physically in warehouse and in an ERP system.
Manage efficient receipt of all import containers and LTL deliveries per shift as well as small parcel.
Prepare all paperwork for shipments, BOL's, shipping manifests, shipping permits, etc.
Direct inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, or logistics quality management.
Develop and administer annual goals for the increase of efficiency pertaining to shipping/receiving and loading dock for the Columbia site.
Develop and implement inventory control and lot control procedures that conform to FDA government regulate standards.
Create training program for new staff, including career progression metrics.
Maintain tracking information for oxygen deliveries for FDA and accreditation audits.
Provide backup services to the Purchasing Specialist as necessary.
Responsible for maintaining stock supplies with the direction of the purchasing specialist.
Provide oversight of other storage areas and assure adequate supplies are in inventory.
Monitor inbound and outbound shipments, and conform to chain of custody protocols and guidelines. This includes addressing any issues promptly as they come up during the transit/regulatory inspection process, and ensuring that internal/external customers are kept.
Ensure that the Cold/Cool Chain is not broken when shipping temperature-controlled packages.
Responsible for data entry and inventory management for shipments leaving the facility and producing the necessary documentation for shipments leaving all departments. This includes assisting with Clinical Kit distribution process as required.
Ensure that any employees work in compliance with local, provincial, federal, and International laws and guidelines in the procedures relating to the proper handling, packaging, and processing of inbound and outbound shipments, including Dangerous Goods. This includes keeping up to date with all relevant transport/handling related legislation.
Maintain excellent customer service for internal and external clients, ensuring high levels of communication is maintained throughout the processes. Complete and provide shipping documentation to clients as necessary.
Deal with customer complaints effectively, ensuring that relevant CAPA(s) are assigned, and associate quality procedures are follows.
Create and monitor Key Performance Indicators related to the shipping team performance.
Ensure the engagement, development, and training of team members.
Help coordinate and manage Couriers, Freight Forwarders, and Integrators as necessary.
Maintain adequate stock levels, and an accurate inventory of shipping supplies, including
equipment and packaging.
Ensure that equipment and supplies for use in shipping have been appropriately calibrated and/or qualified as required by site procedures.
In collaboration with the various departments, including the creation and review of any new shipping/receiving related SOP's and Forms.
